I started looking for a house as an investment in February, 2009. One of the houses I looked at was listed by Pam Atchison. I could not make a deal on that house, but I liked Pam. She patiently showed me perhaps 50 other listings over the next three months. These houses were located everywhere from Rohnert Park to Guerneville to Santa Rosa. I must have made 15 unsuccessful offers at or below the asking price during that time. I lost count. I became discouraged and almost gave up. Even though almost every house I made an offer on sold for over the asking price, and I refused to pay over the asking price, Pam continued to show me houses as patiently as ever.
Finally I made an offer on a tract house that appeared to be a great bargain at the asking price in June, 2009. I was delighted when the offer was accepted! Today, three days after the deed was recorded, I read a report in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat that said that a house located about half a block up the same street had sold for $330,000. I paid $189,900 ! While the house I bought was a "fixer-upper", I think that I got the major bargain I wanted.
Pam guided me through the escrow process. It was complicated because the house was a foreclosure and the bank that owned the house required that the transaction be closed through an escrow company in southern California. She protected my interests throughout this unfamiliar process and even retrieved the keys for me when the sale closed.
This recommendation is unsolicited. I am extremely pleased with the service I received from Pam during this somewhat stressful time as well as the service I received from the people she works with. If I am in a position to buy a house again I will look up Pam Atchison.
